3 Days Gorilla Habituation in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Gorilla Habituation in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Day 1:

Pick-up and Arrival at Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

Your 3 days Gorilla habituation adventure begins as an Ecospace Explorers driver picks you up from either Kampala or Entebbe. The journey to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest commences with a briefing and an opportunity to capture the picturesque countryside and equator crossing through stops. The scenic route through the western part of Uganda unveils captivating landscapes, from rolling hills in Kigezi to the valleys of Kisoro. Anticipate arriving in the southern sector of Bwindi by late afternoon.

Retreat for the an overnight to Karungi Camp for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2:

Briefing and Gorilla Habituation Experience in Bwindi

An early start beckons, as you indulge in breakfast before the park office briefing. Here, alongside fellow adventurers, you’ll receive insights into the forthcoming gorilla habituation experience. Expect to be informed about the dos and don’ts, and what essentials to carry. Following the briefing, embark on a forest trek led by Rangers, Trackers, and Researchers. Unlike traditional gorilla tracking, where an hour is spent with the primates, the habituation process grants you four hours in their presence.

While tracking the gorillas, your journey is adorned with encounters with the forest’s different bird species, butterflies, and primate inhabitants. Observe and engage with the researchers’ activities, perhaps even participating in gorilla calls, sample gathering, or naming rituals. Upon completing your extended encounter, return to the lodge to unwind and rejuvenate. This will make the second day of your 3 days Gorilla habituation in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.

Rest for the night at Karungi Camp, where dinner and relaxation await.

Day 3:

Return Journey to Kampala

Rise early to enjoy breakfast while awaiting your Guide/Driver to commence the return journey to Kampala or Entebbe. The homeward bound route includes stops at the equator crossing and a pause for lunch, offering moments of reflection on the unforgettable gorilla habituation experience. This marks the end of your 3 days Gorilla habituation in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.
